A BRIEF 2023 STATISTICAL RECAP AND RECORD BOOK ADDITIONS
The record book has been updated with, of course, some new additions as well as a few new categories. 11-Player Stats Leading the way is Colton Brunell of Columbus, the new state all-time leading rusher with 7,416 yards. His 106 career rushing touchdowns places him in second place, behind Random Lake’s Luke Hagel (1995-99) who scored 112 times (All rushing). THE SEVEN YARD RULE AND A BIT MORE ON EARLY OSHKOSH
The seven-yard rule: In the last blog I discussed some major rule changes in the early days of “modern” football. I say “modern” but as I said in the blog it would be a while before the game would reflect the game of today. The game was evolving slowly from a rugby scrum to a more polished offensive attack.
